Commodore VIC-20

General Information

The Friendly Computer, the most affordable Colour Computer of its time!

Notes:

I can remember playing this thing in 1981 or 82, the exciting games of "Radar Ratrace" and "Gorf".  Incidentally, I wondered for years why the VIC-20 was called a VIC-20.. Well, it's stands for "VIDEO INTERFACE CHIP" hence the term VIC. And the 20? Well, that is subject to debate, but according to "The Home Computer Wars",  it is due to the 22 column screen, rounded off to 20. Still, an important machine for Commodore, a step in the right direction.
